1. Fertilizer dosage

1 – 2 year old stage:

  • Amount of fertilizer: 5 – 7 kg/tree, divided into 2 times/year.
    • Fertilization time: 1st time at the beginning of the rainy season (60% of fertilizer), 2nd time at the end of the rainy season (40% of fertilizer).

3 year old stage and above:

  • Amount of fertilizer: 10 kg/tree, divided into 2 times/year.
    • Time of fertilization: 1st time after harvest (60% of fertilizer), 2nd time before the tree flowers (40% of fertilizer).

2. Fertilization method

  • Before fertilizing:
    • It is necessary to cut the grass around the base of the tree to prevent the grass from absorbing nutrients.
    • Prune the branches and create a canopy to keep the tree airy, helping to limit pests and diseases.
    • Remove small branches, diseased branches and ineffective branches.
  • Fertilizing:
    • Lightly loosen the soil around the canopy to allow the fertilizer to penetrate the soil better.
    • Spread the fertilizer evenly around the canopy, about 50 – 60 cm from the base of the tree.
    • After fertilizing, if there is no rain, watering is needed to keep the soil moist. The amount of water must be enough for the fertilizer to ferment and dissolve, helping the tree absorb nutrients effectively.
