1. Fertilizer dosage

Stage 1 – 3 years old:

  • Amount of fertilizer: 3 – 5 kg/tree, divided into 2 times/year.
    • Fertilization time: 1st time at the beginning of the rainy season (60% of fertilizer), 2nd time at the end of the rainy season (40% of fertilizer).

Stage from 4 years old and up:

  • Amount of fertilizer: 7 – 10 kg/tree, divided into 2 times/year.
    • Time of fertilization: 1st time after harvest (60% of fertilizer), 2nd time before the tree flowers (40% of fertilizer).

2. Fertilization method

  • Before fertilizing:
    • Cut the grass around the base of the tree to prevent the grass from absorbing essential nutrients.
    • Prune and shape the tree to help the tree breathe, reducing the risk of pests and diseases.
    • Remove small branches, diseased branches and ineffective branches.
  • Fertilizing:
    • Lightly loosen the soil around the tree canopy so that the fertilizer can penetrate the soil better.
    • Spread the fertilizer evenly around the tree canopy, about 50 – 60 cm from the base of the tree.
    • After fertilizing, water the soil to keep it moist. If there is no rain, the amount of water must be enough for the fertilizer to dissolve and penetrate the soil, helping the tree absorb nutrients effectively.
